Why people join our parts team

FoodServ Parts Store has been trading since 2016 from our Midrand base, supporting commercial kitchens with the right spare parts and the right advice. We work with ovens, fryers and dishwashers every day, so the work is hands-on and changes from one call to the next. Some days are about identifying a thermostat from a worn sample, other days are about getting a gasket or element out the door before lunch.

We value people who are steady, practical and willing to learn. If you can speak clearly to a customer, keep track of part numbers, or handle stock without confusion, you will fit in well here.

The roles we usually hire for

We do not post a fixed vacancy list on this page, because the team grows as the work grows. When openings come up, they are usually in one of these areas:

  • Customer support and part identification
  • Technical parts support and compatibility checks
  • Warehouse, picking and dispatch
  • Field fitting coordination and site support
  • Administration and order processing

Some roles are office based, while others need a warehouse mindset and clean record keeping. On the technical side, experience with elements, thermostats, burners, switches and seals helps a lot.

What a good applicant looks like

We look for people who can work neatly under pressure, especially when kitchens are down and service is waiting. Load shedding, weekend trading and coastal humidity all create real-world problems, so attention to detail matters. A wrong gasket or an incorrect switch can cost a customer time and money.

If you have worked in appliance repairs, parts sales, catering equipment, or a busy stockroom, that counts. Even if your background is not exact, we can train the right person if they are dependable and keen to learn.

  • Clear communication by phone and email
  • Good memory for models, sizes and part codes
  • Basic computer use for orders and stock
  • Careful handling of fragile and high-turn items
  • Willingness to work from Midrand and support national dispatch

Where the work happens

Most of our work starts in Midrand, where orders are checked, packed and sent nationwide. We also support customers across Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town and Bloemfontein, so the team needs to understand that different towns have different turnaround times and different site conditions. A fryer element in Pretoria is not the same day-to-day as a dishwasher seal going to the coast, and it helps if you understand that.

Our team includes Managing Director Riaan Pretorius, Operations Manager Ayesha Jacobs, Technical Parts Lead Sibusiso Dlamini, Customer Support Manager Megan Naidoo, Warehouse and Dispatch Supervisor Pieter van Wyk, and Field Fitting Coordinator Lerato Khumalo. You may work closely with one or more of them depending on the role.

How to send your CV

Email your CV to parts@foodservparts.co.za and include a short note telling us what kind of work you are looking for. Please mention any spare-parts, fitting, warehouse, or customer support experience you have, plus the town you are based in. If you know specific commercial kitchen equipment, say so, and include references if available.

We review applications as they come in, so it helps to keep your details current. If you have done onsite parts support, post-fit testing, or switch panel repairs, please mention it clearly. That sort of background often stands out.

  • CV in PDF or Word format
  • Contact number and current location
  • Brief summary of your experience
  • Notice period, if you are working
  • Any drivers licence or fitment tools you already have

If your details are a bit old, send an updated copy and we will recieve it with the rest of your application.

What working here feels like day to day

This is not the kind of place where people sit still all day. The work moves between customer calls, stock checks, packing, technical questions and following through until a part fits properly. We expect people to take pride in doing the small things right, from labelling a box properly to checking a thermostat before it leaves the depot.

If you want steady work with a practical South African team that understands pressure, breakdowns and customer urgency, this may suit you well.
